A Winter Wonderland
Welcome to our wonderful Nursery here at The Kidsgrove Primary School! The children are always full of energy and ready to learn as they join us each day to explore and have fun with their friends.
This half term in the Nursery we are focusing on ‘All about Winter’. We have been exploring outside recently, looking for signs of Winter and the changing seasons. We have talked about the importance of keeping warm during winter time, winter animals and the story of Jack Frost. There is still lots more learning to do around our topic of Winter!
Autumn Term: Traditional Tales
In the Nursery we have been learning about traditional tales. So far we have explored The Gingerbread Man and The Three Little Pigs. Each week, a variety of activities are planned around a story book to ensure the children can make links to characters, events and main themes. We hope to cover more traditional tales such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Little Red Riding Hood over the next couple of weeks, before moving onto our ‘Operation Christmas’ theme where we take part in various craft activities in the lead up to Christmas. We will also invite parents into the Nursery for our termly activity morning, the first one being ‘Christmas in the classroom’.
